OOTD: Sunshine on a Rainy Day

Coat: Joy
Beaded collar top: H&M
Cardigan: George at Asda
Jeans: Miss Selfridge
Boots: Urban Outfitters

As a complete sun-lover, I'm definitely not one to embrace the winter season - the dark mornings, freezing cold, wind and rain definitely aren't massive selling points for me. So in order to soften the blow and make the transition into winter, I have treated myself to a new coat.

When i first saw this coat I really liked it but really wasn't sure even though it looked nice on. Its definitely different with the leopard print coat and cream faux fur collar. Whilst I love Joy, the only issue I have is that they still haven't stepped into the twenty-first century with their returns policy and only offer exchange or credit note. At £120 for the coat, I had to be 100% sure I was happy before I was willing to take it home. This was one of those items that I definitely had down as a man-repeller - girls love it but blokes would hate it, however my other half said it was different and he liked it... so I took the plunge and bought it.

I'm so happy that I did as every time I've worn it I've had nothing but lovely compliments or comments - so at least its getting noticed and makes a change from the usual black or navy.

I wore this out for a walk in the park today - hope you like the photos and the coat!

Have you invested in a new coat this season?

Wedding #2 - The Ibiza Wedding

Back in June I was privileged enough to spend ten days out in Ibiza, enjoyed the clubs, the music and the beaches as usual. But this was no normal holiday as we were also spending time with my friends to celebrate the marriage of two of them.

After going to the most perfect marquee summer wedding I could imagine less than two weeks previous (you can see the write up and what I wore here), I was excited to be going to completely different and non-traditional nuptials.

Nick and George got married at Cap d'es Falco, a stunning beach restaurant near the southern most tip of Ibiza. Having spent time on the island nearly every year out of the last eight and recently getting engaged in Ibiza, I completely understand the magic of this place and why Nick and George chose to get married here.

The day was perfect starting with drinks - the white wine sangria was so refreshing in the heat. This was followed by a beautiful ceremony overlooking the most amazing view.

After more drinks at Cap D'es Falco, we headed to a seriously premium villa for the reception. The food quality matched the surroundings with a slap up barbeque with a little something for everyone - steak, lamb, fish - we really were spoiled for choice. And once again, all of this set on the back drop of amazing Ibiza views.

The bride and groom had chosen a simple beach theme for the finishing touches which looked great!

All that's left to show you is the outfit I wore. Mint was on-trend this summer, which was lucky given that I'd actually bought this dress the year before when I received the wedding invite - I knew it was perfect for an event in 30 degree heat and it certainly didn't let me down. I kept the outfit simple with some gold accessories and sandals, and of course the sunglasses were necessary!

Dress: Warehouse
Earrings and Ring: Topshop
Bracelet: Accesorize
Belt: H&M
Bag: New Look
Sandals: George at Asda
Sunglasses: Christian Dior

Wedding #1: The Perfect Jubilee Wedding

Well hello strangers!

Its been a serious while since I've found time to post anything on here between a hen party in Marbella, a wedding, new job, holiday preparation, a serious health and exercise kick, my Ibiza holiday including another hen party and wedding....

Yes May and June have been ridiculously busy but amazingly fun months that have disappeared in the blink of an eye... this sets the tone for the rest of the summer that I have planned! I just hope I can remember everything I wanted to share with you...

First and foremost has to be one of the best weddings I've ever had the pleasure of being invited to - that of my old housemate Anna and her lovely hubby Gav on the Jubilee weekend at the beginning of June at Clumber Park near Mansfield.

Now I firmly believe Anna was born to be a bride and I never expected her day to be anything other than traditional but I was blown away beautiful everything was from the dress, the bridesmaids and the flowers, to the marquee, the table arrangements, the crooked cake and the yummy food - check out the trio of desserts below! It really was the perfect wedding!

So what did I wear for such a special occasion? With it being a summer wedding I wanted something bright and colourful but still in fitting with the traditional feel...

Dress: Next
Shoes: Next
Bag: Zara
Earrings: Accessorize

The dress was exactly what I was looking for and a perfect fit so I was really pleased to find it in Next for the bargain price of £45 with the classic nude heels for just £26! I found this statement grey wire clutch with fringing detail in Zara for £40 which I know will go with so many other things.

This was the first of four weddings I have this summer which has proved fun and stressful in equal measure to get all my outfits sorted... I hope you like this one!

Outfit of the Day: Mellow Yellow

Top: George at Asda
Jeans: New Look
Shoes: Barratts
Necklace: Wallis
Ring: Miss Selfridge

Finally I've got round to editing the photos and finishing the post with the outfit I wore for my girl's night out last weekend. If you saw my Nails of the Day post you'll remember that I picked out the blue colour especially to go with this ultra bright yellow top.

Obviously aside from the bright colour I fell in love with this top for both the cut out detail on the bottom hem as well as the fabric - its sheer on the front and then a softer contrasting fabric on the back. A lot of great detail for the bargain price of a tenner from George at Asda would you believe it!?

I've kept the rest of the outfit fairly simple with black skinnies and heels and finished with a statement necklace made up of twisted chunky bronze and blue chains that complemented the nail varnish colour.

Girls night was tapas for dinner and then cocktails in Leeds... my boyfriend was in Barcelona for the weekend and I seem to remember having to put myself to bed on the bathroom floor when I got back after a few too many margaritas and tequila shots! Oops...

Great night though!

Outfit of the Day - Wishes Do Come True

It was only on Monday this week that I posted my April Wish List so imagine my surprise when I got home from working away in London on Wednesday to find a parcel waiting for me. When I turned the parcel over to open I saw a little sticker saying Sugarhill Boutique and I was so excited... I am now the proud owner of the Cherry Bomb Shift Dress!

My lovely boyfriend had only heard me talking about how much I liked the dress (think I'd showed him the picture about 3 times!) and for once, he actually agreed with me that it was nice and decided to surprise me with it as a present!

Dress: Sugarhill Boutique
Leggings: Miss Selfridge
Boots: Primark
Necklace: Warehouse
Belt: Dahlia on Carnaby Street

I wore this dress yesterday to go for dinner and to the theatre to see Sister Act which has left the West End to tour the country. I actually saw the show when I was living in London when it guest starred Whoopi Goldberg who wrote the production but despite this being my second time I actually enjoyed it more than the first time - the cast and singing is incredible plus my boyfriend had got us tickets in an upper circle box so we had a great view and the two of us were sat on our own!

I wore the dress with black leggings, a buckle belt to nip in the waist a bit more (it did look fab without the belt too), my suede boots that you'll see in a lot of my outfits and then a cute chain with a solid block pendant detail.

Aside from the gorgeous print and the cute sleeve detail, I love the fabric - it was actually a lot better quality than I was expecting. That's no disrepect to smaller fashion retailers, I just find you never know what you're going to get when you order online - I generally check the material before I buy but sometimes things do seem cheaper when you see them in the flesh.

Overall I'm really pleased with it and the boyfriend has earned major brownie points too! I'm a very lucky girl!

Outfit of the Day

My first ever outfit of the day post so please excuse the dodgy posing... still don't think I've got the hang of it yet!

Keeping it simple with a couple of great recent purchases from Next. I got this charcoal/black short sleeved round neck jumper with light grey bird print. I love how cute it is!

I'm wearing my blue Miss Selfridge skinny jeans (my favourite place for skinnies on the high street) and my staple kitten heel suede boots from Office.

I also picked up this gorgeous necklace made up of tiny butterflies. Desperately in need of an accessories haul so this was a great find in the sale for £2.50!

What do you think? Have you found any bargains in the sale?
